Dragonfly eyes

"Dragonfly eyes" are multifaceted lenses set in an eyepiece, usually found in toyshops. Look through them to see the world transformed. Twist them a little, move them slightly, and you get ever changing views.
They're great for discovering different combinations and proportions of colour. Or general inspiration for patchwork shapes.

Also in the designing vein -- who'd have thought soap and a scrubber could be a quilting inspiration for quilting patterns?
