Klimt's landscapes

It was a revelation to discover Klimt's landscape work (despite the beautiful drawing, the figurative stuff doesn't appeal to me much). The Orsay museum in Paris has a huge apple tree, of which thisis a detail (the bottom right quarter of the painting). Here's another apple tree -
There's something about a high horizon -
Other landscapes take a longer view -"Original and beautifully crafted" - yes, they are. The one above brings to mind landscapes by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, another artist best known for other work (his unique architectural style) -Mackintosh also did some wonderful flower drawings -
very different from Klimt's loosely-painted floral exuberance -
