Wrought iron elegance

Near Regent's Park; Park Square East was built about 1825 by the prolific John Nash. The lamp-post says, under the crown, I V - and under that, W R, which puts it in the period 1830-1837. London had gas street lamps as early as 1807, and about 2000 gas lamps remain today.
