Woodblock Wednesday - trying things out

While our blocks were soaking and our paper was in the damp pack, Roland whose background is in archaeology) told use about using natural pigments to make printing inks - 

and then it was time to do some printing... I decided to add "floating leaves" to the handmade papers eraser-printed with trees -

 Some worked better than others...

 and mostly the woodblock additions did nothing for the original -

but these are the kinds of things we need to find out by trying them out.
