Drawing Tuesday - Southwark Cathedral

On the way to the venue I stopped for a coffee and spent 15 minutes with a biro and the A6 book, grappling with masts and rigging and fitting it all on the page (better luck next time) -

That's the Golden Hinde, a replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship -

 It gets lots of visits from school groups, some dressed as pirates.

I do like a bit of twisted metal and enjoyed these anchors, which looked more like warriors in combat -

 After the torment of drawing with a biro it was a pleasure to dip a finger into the dregs of the coffee and sully the page with it -

 ... adding some soluble coloured pencil -

 In the cathedral, this venerable stone - I forgot to look for the date, but it's been much walked over -

 The 2B pencil was quickly replaced by the 5B, darker, smoother, more satisfying...

Judith had been drawing outside and was well into a large view when the rain started. Indoors, she found these  -

 Sue too was outdoors until the rain came -

Najlaa reworked the fancy fish she had found the previous week -

Over the seasons Carol has returned to Norwich Cathedral Close and this is the composite result -

Channeling Hockney for those seasons, don't you think?
