Ice sculpture

The temperature was right for the Ice Sculpting Festival, down at Canary Wharf. The icy wind whistled between the buildings so we didn't queue up for a turn at the graffiti wall -

or even, come to that, spend much time looking at the sculptures being created by ice sculptors from Europe and America, with chainsaws, drills, and delicate chipping tools -

The texture of the ice in the finished sculptures was intriguing -

as was the texture of the water, with reflections of the buildings -
