Tone

Hatching, cross-hatching, bracelet hatching, combining these... and later, line and wash, wash drawing, wax resist and wash, and possibly photocopying on good paper and working over that with some or all of the other techniques...

Fortunately we did it in stages. First a demo of various possibilities - Everyone brought in "a fluffy toy" to draw -
This glove puppet was a favourite of Thomas's and has been in the closet for about 20 years. There was some moth damage on the snout, which made for tonal interest (and explains why moths have plagued me for years - spring cleaning, anyone?) - Probably the first attempt, one-directional hatching, was the most satisfying - going from complete incompetence with the technique and uncertainty as to the result to producing something reasonable -
At the end of the day, an impressive display -
