Spent the weekend at Alston Hall, near Preston - at the much-awaited CQ summer school - it lived up to expectations. My room was way up high - here's the view, and some Victorian fancy architectural stuff, including a drainpipe straight out of Gormenghast, or maybe Dr Seuss -

... including a 15-minute torrential downpour... but only one. It's a bit of a letdown to be back in the big city. I lived in Yorkshire for several years and still love the north.
