Some samples, made with lots of running stitch, pulled up tight, and then painted with textile paint. The water seeps into the fabric (this is cotton) and leaves the pigment on the outside folds.I pulled out the strings and reused them. Mindless busy-work!

I have done shibori, but I dyed my fabric instead of using fabric paint. I like the fabric paint pieces you did a lot! It seems you can get better control over the amount of color with the paint. I will definitly have to try that!
