A colourful sort of day

I don't often use Tottenham Court underground station but passed through it this evening. The spacious ticket hall - after years of disruption - came as a surprise, as did this colourful mural -

It coordinates with Paolozzi mosaics which have been restored on some of the platforms.

I was on the way to a short class in Japanese calligraphy at City Lit -
We learned about the systems of writing, and wrote our names in hiragana. Also within the two hours, we learned about the "weather words" that went with the different months, and were given some practice materials to take home with us.

Other events of the day included collecting a shelf with the help of Sue.
 Couldn't resist taking a "shelfie" ....
finding this fine fellow to fill a bare spot on the wall -
having coffee somewhere new -
and popping along to the hospital to see this sprite, just one day old and a bit disheveled, and already dreaming of xmas (or perhaps walks in the woods) if that hat is anything to go by -

Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful granddaughter, Margaret. She looks to be at least 8 pounds. A bonny baby!
