We found a "floating" shelf in the back of a closet, and while putting it up above the door Thomas also decided to use a big bit of leftover mdf to make some storage for portfolios, drawings, etc on top of the cupboard. Some of what we call "the avalanche in the corner" has been put up on the shelf - temporarily, of course! Now there is a vast amount of floor space - wonderful; and we're managing to keep most of the workbench clear (apart from that bit near the door, which is so convenient for putting papers "just for now"...) Small moves toward decluttering have been made - I even threw out some bits of (nasty) fabric the other day.
