Abstraction

...or rather, planometric (axonometric) drawing. 45-degree angles everywhere - a very strange "perspective", especially for pyramids, and shapes intersected by spheres.Some of those intersections are wrong, not just "unnatural" -
After staring at these all morning, the room looked very different when we got back from lunch -
The afternoon's task was to make an imaginary construction by this method, and I tried to get pyramid intersecting pyramids - but looking at it now, can see that there wasn't any actual intersection happening.... back to the drawing board!
Nor was my feeble attempt to introduce colour very obvious. Other people had wonderful colour systems going.
And then, back in the real world, this sculpture at Euston Station (by Paolozzi) made me look twice --
