This week at college

Strange week - no seminar on Tuesday - instead a trip to the Wellcome's "Medicine Man" exhibition to re-gather information for the text project. And a series of activities on Wednesday - a bit of screenprinting, the first meeting of the reading/discussion group, followed by a discussion of how to get organised for the Leeds Book Fair (and not before time!)
These are some of what I'll be taking along -
The Wednesday lecture was another view of how to make a living after art school - Karin Kihlberg and Reuben Henry have been collaborating since 2004. Working primarily in video, their practice explores filmic language through performance and collaboration. Sometimes they abandon the medium altogether in order to use the structure and function of film in unconventional ways, by re-applying it to new situations such as live art and performance, and through collaborative processes with participants and audiences. They are based in Birmingham, UK, where they have also directed Springhill Institute, a seasonal programme of international artists production residencies, while for the past four winters they have worked in Barcelona, Sweden, Australia &
China and Prague.
Thursday, it's back to screenprinting for a few hours and then I'm off to Leeds.
