Pre-digital photos

Digging around for pix of the V&A in the 80s and 90s. I found a handful that are identifiably the V&A, including the old ceramics gallery, which had a super-duper makeover not so long ago.

Helpfully the photos are separated into subjects - including doors, birds, plants, buildings, ethnic textiles, oriental, museums. Museums outside the UK have usually been identified, and most of the others are of objects in the British Museum, which was conveniently close to work, for lunch-hour visits (in the days when people still had lunch hours).

Strangest subject division is "disembodied hands" -

This "ghost sign", photographed in 1988, may have disappeared by now - unfortunately I have no record of where it was - but isn't it lovely?
