After adding a new colour (or two) to the
stripey painting, I use a palette knife to apply the leftover paint to "the
wrinkly one" - you might identify the new colour from those visible at the edges of the painting. The folds catch the paint, building up layers of colour -
If the layers were less thin, they might look rather geological when sanded down ... I have
Mark Bradford's paintings in mind (aim high!) - close up they look like this, the sanding revealing the paint layers -
