Short visit to South Wales

To visit a friend, rather than the place as such.
The Balmoral (or was it the Waverley?) arrives at Penarth Pier in the evening light

On the pier - with an ever-changing sky
Wildflower patch and view towards Cardiff
More wildflowers in the clifftop park
And now the cultural highlights....
Woven copper by Jody Hatcher at Crafts in the Bay

Opening of Geraint Evans's show Edgeland (drawing, installation, sound) at Penarth Pier Pavilion

Striking collage by Rosemary Burton seen at Martin Tinney gallery
- but the glass added an unfortunate reflection
(more pix - without reflections - are here)

A grand place, the National Museum of Wales

In a special cabinet to show a rotating selection of works on paper, a watercolour by Arthur Giardelli

Egyptian-inspired ceramic by Mo Jupp

Glass "cube" by Colin Reid
All too soon it was time to leave ...

That woven copper is extraordinary and quite new to me as were the striking collages by Rosemary Burton. Lovely to see. Thank you.

Thank you for this post - I also enjoyed seeing the collages of Rosemary Burton, pursuing which took me on a fascinating online journey which I've written about in a post today. Thanks for the inspiration.
