ceramics week 11

These "rooms" from last week were on the bisque-fired shelf near the door when I arrived at ceramics class - one of today's jobs would be to glaze them -
Here's another view - two have sloping floors, make of those what you will, metaphorically -
These slabs also need glazing -
First job with the rooms is to put wax resist on the surface that will rest on the kiln shelf. I added underglaze yellow to some - it's an experiment -
These are for earthenware firing -
and these are for stoneware -
You need to make notes, keep track of what glazes went where, and because of the many pieces from various classes that get put into various kilns at various times, it's helpful to have something to check against so that you retrieve all your pieces (amazing how much you can forget in just one week) -
At the end of the day I quickly put brass tacks into one piece -
and almost forgot to photograph these angular pieces -

None of these pieces will be glazed in time to get photos to put on the worksheets for the internal assessment – the next ceramics class is on the day after the assessment. I hope that doing the worksheets will help me figure out where these are going...
