Tiny houses in London

Walking a new route from Stroud Green Road to Archway I noticed this little house with its narrow window and door -
hardly wide enough to fit a bed crossways, it's been shoehorned into a space like this one -
Later on the walk, another tiny house, with an even tinier window -
Much as I love the idea of tiny homes, and living simply and efficiently, the way these are squeezed in feels a bit claustrophobic...

A similar house nearby is on the market for £350,000 - but from the interior photos it looks about twice as wide!

London's smallest house is reputedly this one, near Hyde Park -
Though this one in Kensington adds a new dimension to "small" -

Ah yes, this kind of discovery always delights and astonishes me. Many years ago my husband and I went to look at a house whose front and name (the Clock House) we admired in Wantage, Oxfordshire. We were flummoxed that the details had not mentioned that the house was only one room deep! http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-251174-the-clock-house-wantage-oxfordshire
No wonder it seemed affordable to us!

this story was in the New York Times a couple of weeks ago -- a house that was fit in between two buildings, four feet wide at its widest
